Shortened Hours

We are currently short staffed, but will be fully staffed soon. Until we have critical positions filled, we will close Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 5:00. All programs that were scheduled on those nights have been canceled. We are open until 8:00pm on Mondays and Thursdays. We should be back to normal hours by October. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Library Card Sign Up Raffle

It's September, which means it's time for Library Card Sign Up Month at BCPL! If you sign up for a library card or renew yours from September 3rd to September 30th, you can enter one of three raffles.

  • Kids (12 & Under): Razor A Kick Scooter
  • Teens (13-17): Kodak Digital Instant camera
  • Adults (18 & Older): Amazon Kindle eReader

To sign up for a card, please visit the Circulation Desk to fill out an application and show a form of ID. If you have a library card and can't remember the last time you used it, it might be time to renew. You can renew your current card by bringing it and a form of ID to the Circulation Desk.

People aged 13+ can get a library card on their own. For children under 13, they need to sign-up with a grown-up. The grown-up will need to present one of the following forms of ID:

Picture ID:

  • Driver’s license (any state ID, whether it’s NY or not)
  • Sheriffs ID
  • Prison discharge ID
  • Passport
  • School ID
  • Green card
  • Military ID
  • EBT card

Non-picture ID:

  • Credit card
  • Checkbook
  • Report card
  • Lease agreement (paper or on phone)
  • Social security card
  • Birth certificate
  • Pay stub
  • Interim license
  • Non-picture EBT card
  • Insurance card
