In this workshop participants will learn about the artform of collage: combining cut papers and fabrics to create one final piece of art. Participants will learn and use collage-creating methods, such as accurate cutting, designing composition, different collage making tools, and adhesives. When students leave, they will have created a beautiful collage of flowers in a pot.
Aaron Truesdell is an art teacher of 30 years from the Whitney Point Central School District. He taught all grades from kindergarten to eighth grade. His personal artworks are all collages created from cut papers and fabrics. Some of his work was featured at the George F. Johnson Memorial Library in August. He teaches a cycling class at a local gym, is involved in volunteer work, and dedicates a lot of his time to creating art!
