Board of Trustees

About the Board

The BCPL Board of Trustees is the governing body of the Library, consisting of 11 members from all over Broome County. Trustees are appointed by the County Executive and approved by the County Legislature.

 

The Board’s duties include: 

  • Hiring and evaluating the Library Director
  • Developing Library policies 
  • Reviewing the budget and monthly and annual reports
  • Representing and advocating for the Library in the community
  • Strategic planning
