Celebrate our Summer Reading Program theme, Color Our World, with movies that feature heavy strategic use of color to represent characters, emotions, ideas, and other forms of symbolism. The vibrantly colorful Disney movie Encanto (2021) correlates different colors to characters, moods of the scenes, and the overarching themes of the movie. In Encanto, the extraordinary Madrigal family live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a magical house. Magic has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift - every child except one, Mirabel.
