Finding Up-to-Date Information on COVID-19

Looking for places to find up-to-date information about COVID-19? The below websites offer local, state, and national COVID-19 information. This includes information on testing and vaccinations.

Broome County Health Department

NY State Department of Health

US Department of Health & Human Services

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) also offers information on testing and vaccines, as well as information on COVID-19 symptoms and treatment.

Looking for tests?

The Broome County Health Department and the library both offer free COVID tests, though it is based on supply. These locations don’t always have tests, so it is best to contact them before you go.

BCPL offers two free test kits per person (2 tests per kit; 4 tests in total). You do not need a library card to pick up tests.

If you have insurance, you can also typically pick up free tests at local pharmacies, such as CVS. Contact the pharmacy you intend to go to and they can check if your insurance covers free tests.

Looking for COVID-19 vaccines and/or boosters?

Click here to locate vaccine clinics near you.

The Broome County Health Department runs COVID-19 vaccine clinics for adults (ages 18+) every Thursday for those without insurance. These vaccines are free by appointment only. Call 607-778-2839 to make an appointment.

If you have insurance, COVID vaccines are typically free and can be obtained at most pharmacies.

Looking for masks?

The library has masks available for free. You can have up to 5 per person. These are adult sized masks.
