February is Library Lovers’ Month, a month dedicated to people that love libraries and everything they have to offer and that lauds everyone who advocates for libraries. Show your library love by playing some BINGO! Pick up your Bingo Sheet at the Library Lovers' Month display we will be putting up for February. Complete library activities and cross out boxes to get 5 in a row, column, or diagonally. Bring your Bingo Sheet to the Reference Desk to enter a drawing for a library swag bag. You can visit the Reference Desk or email bcplreference@gmail.com if you have questions about how to do any of the Bingo tasks.
We are also celebrating with our Library Lovers’ hearts. Click here to create a heart, or visit any of the desks at BCPL to get a heart and make your own! The hearts we already have are hanging up in Circulation, Reference, and the Children’s Room.
Here are some other ways in addition to Library Lovers’ Bingo and creating a heart to decorate BCPL that you can celebrate Library Lovers’ Month and support libraries:
- Attend a library program
- Visit the physical library
- Borrow books and movies from the library
- Watch movies on Hoopla
- Borrow e-books and e-audiobooks on Libby and Hoopla
- Help others find books and resources that you have discovered
- Create a new library card if you don’t already have one. Click here for the eligibility requirements for a BCPL card. (Fun fact- if you already have a card with us, did you know that all New York State residents, workers, and students are eligible for a card at the New York Public Library, Queens Public Library, and the Brooklyn Public Library?)
